- As the leader, he's often seen as being more focused than the other members, but when he's on shows, he's cheerful and messy.
- He's often teased by fellow Ammonites, Lee Jangjun. His variety show potential bursts when he shows his 'Kind, Dumb Hyung' image.#
- He's the oldest in the group, but he's the youngest in his family, so he's kind and has a lot of aegyo.
- He looks very much like his older brother, but their personalities are polar opposites. His brother has an elementary school character and bouncy personality, while he himself is quiet and calm. However, [Golden Child] has so many talkative members that he appears [quiet] in comparison to them.

- He joined Woollim Entertainment in late 2011 and was revealed as the back dancer for Tasty's stage in 2012, announcing that he had started as a trainee.# After that, he participated as the back dancer for Infinite's year-end stages and Infinite F's performances.
- Many people say that he looks like his brother, Infinite's Lee Sungyeol, but if you watch Golden Child videos, his vocal color, the way he speaks, his actions, and even his sexy dance are all very similar to Sungyeol. Infinite revealed during a radio show that [Daeyeol] looked very much like Sungyeol but he was nicer.
- 181031 Rooftop Live: he did a cosplay of his brother for Halloween, as recommended by his members. He said he didn't ask for his brother's permission to do it because he thought Sungyeol would say no if he asked, but fortunately, Sungyeol didn't scold him.# They have similar body type to the point that he wore Sungyeol's The Eye stage outfit without any alteration. There was a joke that he had it too easy with his cosplay, but he acknowledged that he only wore the outfit, brushed his hair up, and was done dressing up. He also made a personal talent called "Cost-Effective Outfit". During the 201030 V LIVE, he did a cost-effective Halloween dress-up show by borrowing his brother's stage outfits, even styled his hair similarly, and danced to Infinite songs. The comments and the members who saw it said that he didn't need to dress up. However, he mentioned that he would get in trouble if he did it once more, so he wouldn't cosplay his brother anymore after this V LIVE.
- Among all the Woollim singers born in 1993[13], he is the oldest but debuted the latest.[14] He is also the only Golden Child member who attended elementary school in the 90s. The members especially tease him a lot about his age.
- He considers a fellow hyung-line member who's 2 years younger than him, Y, as the scariest member. They went through a long training period together and in the past, [Y] would go, "Ah, okay, I get it, hyung," when he got scolded and they'd move on, but now, after 6 years, he would fight back.#
