- He was in the 5th graduating class of SOPA's Practical Music Department with labelmate Lovelyz's Ryu Sujeong, Produce 101 Season 2's Jeong Sewoon, and Berry Good's Seoyul. Ryu Sujeong mentioned him on radio during Lovelyz's debut days.#[16] They were in the same class for 3 years straight but they had a different circle of friends so they were not close. According to Sujeong, Jangjun joined the agency first but she debuted first and they were classmates, so Jangjun became awkward with her[17], he even greeted her by bowing his head but saying, "Hi."# He clarified[18] their trainee anecdote on Lee Joon's Youngstreet and said, "Let's get closer." He said he became close to Jeong Sewoon because they were in the same after-school class. He overlapped promotions with Jeong Sewoon for his 1st and 2nd mini album promotions and he uploaded pictures he took with Jeong Sewoon to Golden Child's official account during the 2nd mini album promotion.

When their schedules overlap, they would often match gestures on stage or copy each other's gestures[20].

- He's a member who practiced "anti-evil editing". When he was filming the waiting room reactions on Road To Kingdom, he wrote the name of the current performers on an LED banner app and showed it [to the camera].[21] There are many instances where he uses the app as a show of support on other broadcasts.

- During his V LIVE on November 14th 2020, he told an episode from his audition. Before he joined Woollim, he passed the final round of audition at another agency and was about to sign a trainee contract, but a few days before the signing, he was hanging out with some friends when the chief of the Woollim Rookie Development Team suddenly said that he was near his house and asked him to meet up. It was the first time that happened, so Jangjun said that he couldn't refuse and met up with him. The chief asked him whether he went to the other agency. He said yes, so the chief said he was going to contact [Jangjun's] mother and got his mother's number. After that, his mother said that since the chief had even come to his house sincerely, he should try to audition so he had no choice but to come to the office and audition. The day after he decided to sign the contract with the other agency, he got accepted into Woollim and was told to come to practice the next day, and that's how he joined the company. He passed the audition in just 3-4 days[22] and he went into the trainee dorm. He said that the rookie development team employee of the company he was supposed to go to was almost fired because of this.
- In December of 2020, he was raising sea-monkeys and would sometimes post the process of raising them on Pocketdols and the Hi_Goldenness twitter[23]. However, during the January 23rd 2021 V LIVE, he mentioned that the sea-monkeys had died. He got another sea-monkeys breeding set from his older sister so he was raising sea-monkeys again, but he said that he didn't think he would be a good parent yet because it had been long since he got them and thought that it wouldn't work out again. He said he would try again the next spring.

[18] The anecdote mentioned above during Lovelyz's debut days is the famous one that happened before Ryu Sujeong transferred to SOPA where their classmates asked Jangjun, "Your labelmate trainee who's transferring here, is she pretty?" in which he replied, "Not really." However, Jangjun revealed that he didn't say that she wasn't pretty, but that he didn't know because the boy and girl trainees trained separately so he didn't know how she looked like. He said that it was a misleading rumor.
[19] Although the official choreo was TAG doing a cartwheel, he only did it for 2 weeks because it was dangerous and after that, it seemed to have been replaced by Jangjun's spinning kick.
